OpenAI GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.5 models now available in US East (N. Virginia) on Amazon Bedrock

Amazon Web Services has expanded regional availability of OpenAI's latest GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.5 models to the US East (N. Virginia) region through its Bedrock platform. The models represent OpenAI's most advanced capabilities for enterprise applications, with GPT-5.5 positioned as the company's most capable model for complex reasoning, coding, and autonomous task completion, while GPT-5.4 focuses on production-ready applications requiring multi-step verification and software environment interaction. Both models feature a 272,000-token context window and support multimodal input including text and images. They integrate with AWS Bedrock's Responses API, offering server-side and client-side tool calling capabilities, project management features, and response streaming. The models are designed to handle long-running agentic workflows with reduced need for orchestration, enabling applications to navigate ambiguous requirements and complete complex tasks autonomously. The regional expansion gives AWS customers in additional geographic areas access to these frontier AI capabilities through Bedrock's managed infrastructure, allowing enterprises to integrate advanced reasoning and coding capabilities into their applications without managing the underlying model infrastructure directly.
