Amazon Keyspaces (for Apache Cassandra) expands to Asia Pacific (Malaysia) and Asia Pacific (Thailand) Regions

Amazon Web Services has expanded its Amazon Keyspaces managed database service to two new regions in Southeast Asia, launching in Asia Pacific (Malaysia) and Asia Pacific (Thailand). The regional expansion allows organizations in these markets to deploy Apache Cassandra-compatible applications with reduced latency while maintaining data residency compliance within their respective countries. Amazon Keyspaces is AWS's serverless, fully managed database service that provides Apache Cassandra compatibility without requiring customers to manage underlying infrastructure. The service offers automatic scaling to handle thousands of requests per second with virtually unlimited throughput and storage capacity, using a pay-per-use pricing model. Both new regions include the full feature set available in other AWS regions, including point-in-time recovery, Multi-Region replication capabilities, change data capture (CDC) streams, and IPv6 network support. The service enables developers to use familiar Cassandra Query Language (CQL) for building distributed applications while eliminating the operational complexity of managing Cassandra clusters. Organizations can now leverage the same high availability and scalability features that have been available in other AWS regions, with the added benefit of keeping data within Malaysia and Thailand to meet local regulatory and compliance requirements.
