AWS Management Console now displays AWS Local Zones in the Region Selector

Amazon Web Services has enhanced its Management Console by integrating AWS Local Zones into the main Region selector interface. The update provides customers with a unified view of their AWS infrastructure by displaying Local Zones alongside traditional AWS Regions in the Console's top navigation bar. Previously, customers had to navigate separately to manage resources across different infrastructure types. The new interface includes a dedicated Local Zones tab within the Region selector that consolidates all opted-in Local Zones in a single location. When users click on a specific Local Zone, they are automatically directed to the parent Region's Console page where they can view and manage their resources. This streamlined approach particularly benefits organizations operating across multiple Local Zones that are parented to different AWS Regions. The feature is now available across all AWS Local Zones within public AWS Regions. AWS Local Zones extend AWS services to edge locations closer to end users, providing single-digit millisecond latency for applications that require real-time processing capabilities.
