Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio adds identity and user management features

Amazon Web Services has enhanced Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio with new identity and user management capabilities that provide administrators greater flexibility in controlling access across different authentication methods. The updates enable IAM domain administrators to integrate AWS IAM Identity Center for single sign-on functionality, allowing them to add various user types including IAM roles, IAM users, Identity Center users, and groups as project members through a centralized management interface. This cross-authentication collaboration capability means team members can work together on projects regardless of their individual authentication methods. For SageMaker Identity Center domains, AWS has introduced federated access through IAM roles, with the platform creating unique user sessions for each federated user to prevent work conflicts when multiple users share the same role. The new features include audit capabilities that allow administrators to track individual user actions even in shared role scenarios, along with a consolidated domain user management dashboard that provides a single-screen view for managing access permissions and user oversight across the entire domain.
