Amazon Quick now supports multiple owners for admin-managed SharePoint and Google Drive knowledge bases

Amazon Web Services has expanded collaboration capabilities for Amazon Q's knowledge base management, introducing multiple owner support for admin-managed SharePoint Online and Google Drive integrations. The new feature allows knowledge base owners to designate co-owners with full management privileges, including editing, syncing, sharing, and deletion rights, while maintaining viewer-only access for query purposes. This multi-owner functionality is currently exclusive to admin-managed SharePoint and Google Drive knowledge bases, with other knowledge base types supporting only viewer sharing. Administrators can now also share data source connections across teams, enabling multiple users to create knowledge bases from the same connection without re-entering credentials. The sharing mechanism supports two permission levels: Owner role for creating knowledge bases and editing connection details, and Viewer role for knowledge base creation only. Users can manage these permissions through the actions menu for knowledge bases or via the Manage Assets section for data source connections. The feature is immediately available across all AWS regions where Amazon Q operates, including US East, US West, Asia Pacific locations in Sydney and Tokyo, and European regions covering Frankfurt, London, and Ireland. This enhancement addresses enterprise collaboration needs by streamlining knowledge base management and reducing credential redundancy in corporate SharePoint and Google Drive environments.
