Amazon Location Service now offers bulk address validation for the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom

Amazon Web Services has expanded its Location Service with bulk address validation capabilities for the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. The new feature allows organizations to validate, correct, and standardize large volumes of addresses at scale using the Amazon Location Service Jobs API, where customers upload address records to their S3 buckets, submit validation jobs, and retrieve processed results. The address validation system checks addresses against authoritative postal data to correct common errors such as misspellings, missing postal codes, and non-standard abbreviations while standardizing formatting to match regional postal rules. Each validation result includes confidence scores and deliverability indicators to help applications determine data reliability. For addresses in the US, Canada, and Australia, customers can also request geocode coordinates alongside the validated address data in the same processing job. The bulk address validation feature is now available across 13 AWS regions including US East, US West, Europe, Asia Pacific, Canada Central, and South America São Paulo. AWS positions this capability to serve use cases spanning healthcare, financial services, transportation and logistics, retail sectors for applications like CRM migrations, shipping verification, fraud prevention, and direct mail targeting.
