Amazon Managed Grafana now supports creating Grafana 12.4 workspaces

Amazon Web Services has released Grafana version 12.4 for its Amazon Managed Grafana service, bringing significant new capabilities for data visualization and monitoring. The update introduces queryless Drilldown apps that enable point-and-click exploration of Prometheus metrics, Loki logs, Tempo traces, and Pyroscope profiles, eliminating the need for complex query construction. Additionally, the new Scenes-powered rendering engine promises improved dashboard performance compared to previous versions. The CloudWatch plugin has received substantial enhancements, including support for PPL and SQL queries in CloudWatch Logs, cross-account Metrics Insights functionality, and log anomaly detection capabilities. Other notable improvements include a rebuilt table visualization with better performance, CSS cell styling, interactive Actions buttons, trendline transformations, and navigation bookmarks for enhanced data exploration. The Grafana 12.4 update is available across all AWS regions where Amazon Managed Grafana operates and can be deployed through the AWS Console, SDK, or CLI. This release consolidates features from open source Grafana versions 11.0 through 12.4, providing managed service users with access to the latest visualization and monitoring capabilities without requiring manual upgrades.
