April 28, 2009 - Beware of Swine
Flu Scams
As Swine Flu takes the front pages of papers and the top news
story on television, internet domains are popping up with names
that relate to the virus. Currently these domains are of
mixed use and little value in finding information about or
"cures" for Swine Flu. Be on the lookout for increased
spam emails for products including Tamiflu, “Immune System
Boosters”, and other products. Additionally be cautious of
emails and domains that claim to have information about the
virus, internet criminals are certain to take advantage of
people’s desire for information and remedies for their
activities. It is recommended that users stick to
mainstream sites when seeking out information regarding the
outbreak.
SecureResearch is sending out this advisory to remind users to
avoid opening unsolicited email and do not click on the links or
open the attachments contained within them.
